The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State has urged Governor Hyacinth Alia to absolve himself of allegations of misapplication of over N46 billion naira in line with his sworn oath of office on accountability and transparency.
State PDP publicity secretary Bemgba Iortyom said, the party was concerned about the mounting allegations of duplication of contractual payments and other huge expenditures made against Governor Hyacinth Alia from various public sources.
However, chief press secretary to the Governor Kula Tersoo dispelled the allegations insisting that his principal is prudent with state funds.
Recent media publications alleging questionable expenditure of tens of billions of naira in 5 months by the Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, ranging from duplication of contracts, to travel expenses, as well as hotel bills and cost of running Government house has generated the reaction from the main opposition party in the State.
