The marriage between an American lady named Jenny Raymond and a young Kano-based student, Sulaiman Isah has been solemnised at Panshekara Juma’at Mosque in the ancient city of Kano, North-West Nigeria.
The groom’s family representative said he paid the sum of N50,000 as dowry and the marriage was contracted according to Islamic rites.
The marriage between the 43-year old American and her Nigerian attracted a lot of attention and interest.
Though the wedding was planned to be low key, hundreds of people gathered at the Panshekara Mosque to witness the wedding Fatiha. Some people who come to rejoice with the couple said this kind of marriage is what is needed to create unity and fight against racism and promote religious harmony.
Father of the groom said he has made sure that all the necessary things that needed to be done have being put in place before the marriage agreement.

The young groom and his bride could not hide their happiness for witnessing the day. The bride will travel to Abuja to facilitate the issuance of visa to her husband before leaving for California in the U.S.
