AMGA 2024: Nigeria Lose To Cameroon In Football Event

Nigeria lost 1-0 to Cameroon in its opening game at the 2024 Africa Military Games (AMGA) in Abuja on Friday.

It was the first game for both teams with Algeria and Equatorial Guinea the other two teams taking part in the football event.

In the second game on Friday Algeria triumphed over Equatorial Guinea 2-0.

In the men’s boxing event Nigeria’s Qozeem Qouum defeated Leonardo Dgraca in the 63.5kg category.

Another Nigerian boxer Damilola Salawudeen was not so lucky in his own bout as he lost to Touareg Mohammed of Algeria in the 51kg.

Meanwhile, on Thursday Nigeria’s Tochukwu Okeke won silver in the men’s 87kg Greco-Roman wrestling event.

Also on Thursday Nigeria won gold in both the men’s and women’s handball event, defeating Ghana in both categories.
