Commander of the Amotekun corps in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, says the corps has arrested no fewer than seven thousand criminals across the state within the last two and half years of its existence
Adeleye who disclosed this during interaction with newsmen also hinted that the crisis of farmers/herders clashes has reduced by over 95 percent in the last two years in the state.

On January 9, 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State, the first regional security outfit, initiated by the governors of the south west zone known as AMOTEKUN Corps was established to checkmate criminal activities in the region.
Farmers/Herders clashes were on the rise in the south west region when the Amotekun corps was established.
However, two and half years down the line,The Amotekun commander in the region, Adetunji Adeleye is having an interface with men of the pen profession to x-ray the achievements and challenges faced by the outfit especially in ondo state.
Adeleye said the major challenge confronting the agency is inadequate equipment to match the sophisticated weapons criminals confronting its operatives possess.
The corps commander However concluded that since inception, the command has dismissed four erring officers that ran foul of the laws and rules guiding its operation.
