Twenty-nine suspects have been arraigned before an Akure High Court over their alleged involvement in various crimes.
The suspects, being prosecuted by the Ondo State wing of the South West Nigeria security corps, Amotekun, on a six count charge, show that ten persons were arraigned for kidnapping, while nineteen others were brought before the court for various criminal offences including conspiracy, burglary, rape, stealing, and illegal possession of firearms.
According to the prosecutor, Segun Akeredolu,the offences contravene Section 516, of the Criminal Code Law and the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law, 2010.

Akeredolu urged the court to remand the suspects at the Olokuta Correctional Centre, pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
Magistrate Damilola Sekoni adjourned the case until August 21 for ruling on the application.
