The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, has commenced a screening exercise to recruit five hundred new operatives to strengthen security across the state.
Speaking during the exercise on Saturday, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, said the screening is aimed at assessing the physical and mental fitness of applicants.
Adeleye explained that shortlisted candidates had earlier undergone medical examinations and physical fitness tests as part of a multi-stage recruitment process.

He added that the exercise will advance to further stages before successful applicants are selected for intensive training at a designated camp, where they will be exposed to security operations in line with the law establishing the agency.
The commander noted that although the recruitment process is gender-sensitive, priority is placed on discipline, physical fitness, and readiness to make sacrifices in the line of duty.
Adeleye also disclosed that the Corps has intensified security operations during the Yuletide period, including border surveillance, 24-hour patrols, and heightened ember-month security activities.
