Amotekun, Soldiers clash over seized cows in Ondo

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps and soldiers from the 32 Artillery Brigade on Tuesday evening clashed over the seizure of over 100 cows for violating the state’s anti-grazing law.

It was learnt that the Amotekun personnel were taking the arrested cows to their Head office in Alagbaka area of the state, when soldiers numbering about ten stormed the area with Hilux vehicle and prevented the arrest of the cows.

The Amotekun operatives were said to have seized the cows after acting on distress calls from farmers.

The farmers it was gathered called from Oke Aro area of Akure that their crops have been destroyed by the cows and herders

However men from the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army it was learnt stormed the area and prevented the cows from being taken away .

The incident caused pandemonium as both men engaged in a fisticuff while residents scampered for safety.

Meanwhile two operatives of the Amotekun personnel were said to have been taken away by the soldiers after sporadic shootings and exchange of blows.
