With about one week to the Anambra state governorship election, the 18 political parties participating in the election have expressed fear over the worsening insecurity in state.

The Chairman Of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Mahmood Yakubu, assured political parties that security agencies are putting all needed measures for a smooth exercise.
Yakubu noted that all non-sensitive materials for the election to the 21 Local Government Areas of the State have been moved to the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in the state and urged political parties to inform their Party Agents to be present for inspection of the materials at the CBN and also follow the movement of the materials to the various locations.
The Commission said it did not use its powers under Section 42 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) to allot voters to the new polling units in order to minimise the disruptions that may occur from such a decision.
