Despite suffering heavy loss at the just concluded Anambra governorship election, the APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, has expressed appreciation to his supporters, describing the over ninety-nine thousand votes recorded by his party as no small feat, considering the political landscape of the state.
Addressing journalists in Awka on Sunday, in his first media appearance after the declaration of Governor Chukwu Soludo as winner, Ukachukwu noted that the APC’s performance was a sign of growing acceptance among the electorate, adding that his team would critically review the electoral process before taking any decision on the next line of action.
Ukachukwu, however alleged that incidents of voter inducement observed during the poll were largely perpetrated by the ruling party in the state.
He says he remains committed to the democratic process and promised to continue working for the progress and unity of Anambra State.
