Former Nigerian Head of state Abdulsalam Abubakar has called on the people of Anambra State to turn out in their numbers and exercise their civic responsibility and vote the candidate of their choice
General Abubakar accompanied by the catholic bishop of Sokoto Diocese Bishop Mathew Kukar made the call in an interview with journalists after a private visit to governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Abdulsalam who was returning from anambra state after a national assignment said the election is for the future of anambra state.
General Abubakar assured the people of Anambra state that the Federal Government has made adequate arrangement to maintain law and order with the provision of enough security operatives.
He said what is left is for the people to come out in their numbers and vote.
The former head of State who was coming from Anambra state where he officiated the signing of the peace accord by all the governorship candidates said the exercise should not be a do or die affair
While advising those who may feel aggrieved over the election to seek legal action, general Abubakar commended governor Okowa for the peace and development that Delta state has enjoyed.
He called on residents of Delta to remain peaceful so as to further fast track the development of the state.
In another development, a delegation of Ijaw traditional rulers led by Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha kingdom king Joseph Timinya also visited and held a closed door meeting with governor Okowa
After the meeting, king Timiyan in an interview with journalists emphasized the ugly effects of oil exploration in their various communities
He thanked governor Okowa for his socio-economic and human capital development in the state and assured that the traditional institution in the state would continue to champion peace in their various domains.
