The Police in Anambra State says it has within the Christmas and New year festivity season arrested over 30 persons suspected to be involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, cult activities and Insurgency.
The State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye revealed this to newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Amawbia.
CP Adeoye explained that about eleven stolen vehicles, several fire arms and ammunition were also recovered in different security operations within the period.
According to the Anambra State Police helmsman, operatives of the Command intercepted and neutralised suspected members of the gang that killed two Police officers on escort duties from Enugu State Command on December 28, 2023 after a shoot out.
He added that two Police personnel were injured during the encounter and are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The Anambra State Police boss is however assuring the people of the commitment of security agencies in the State to collaborate in providing stronger and adequate security throughout this year 2024.
