Irate youths on Wednesday set ablaze a popular church, Sotitobire Miracle Centre in Akure, Ondo state capital, following unconfirmed reports that the remains of the boy who went missing over a month ago, had been dug out from the church altar.

The church auditorium and adjoining houses were razed, properties looted while about six vehicles said to belong to the pastor were also burnt.

Two civilians and a policeman were also feared dead.

At the time of filling this report, normalcy has returned to the area following the reinforcement of more security operatives who have commenced arrest of many residents of the area.

The Founder of the church, Alfa Babatunde, has spent 10 days in the custody of the Department of State Services.

He was arrested based on a petition written by parents of the missing child.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, said the report making rounds that the body of the missing boy was found on the church Altar was untrue.

Recall that the one year old boy, Kolawole Gold, was declared missing one month ago during a church service.
