Flood has wreaked havoc again in Cheledi community in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, North East Nigeria destroying about 10 houses with properties worth millions of Naira submerged.
Cheledi is one of the 56 communities in Bauchi State identified by NiMET to possibly witness flooding this year.
According to a resident of the community, Mohamed Nura, who spoke to AIT.live on telephone, the flood occurred amid government’s emergency efforts to mitigate the disaster by reconstructing a mini-dam in the area to control about four water ways that usually spill water into the community.

He confirmed that the affected members of the community are currently taking refuge with their family members, calling on government and well to do Nigerians to provide succour for them.
It would be recalled that, Cheledi community, last year witnessed serious flooding which affected 80 houses with other properties worth millions of Naira also destroyed.
