For the second day since it convened, the United States House of Representatives has failed to elect a Speaker with voting heading to a sixth round.
House Republican Leader, Kevin McCarthy again failed to get votes of twenty party members who oppose his bid for the top Congress post, as twenty of them again declined to rally behind him in tbe fourth and fifth voting rounds.
A minimum 218 votes are needed to clinch the Speakership and McCarthy has not crossed 204 mark in all the earlier rounds of voting despite the Republicans having majority in Congress.
The six round of voting commences shortly, and the main contender for the Speaker position, McCarthy has said he will not back down despite dissenters from within the Republican Party blocking his bid.
