In fulfillment of the outcome of the Southern Governors forum meeting of May 2021, Delta state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa finally inaugurates a 19-member livestock Management Committee as contained in the provisions of the anti-open grazing law recently signed into law in the state.

Governor Okowa during the inauguration ceremony at government house Asaba explained that Delta state has been a peaceful home to people of diverse ethnic groups not until the influx of criminal elements who turned the bushes into where all forms of criminal activities are perpetuated.

Governor Okowa said the import of the committee is to ensure that the lost glory of the peaceful co-existence of all and sundry in Delta is restored through the effective implementation of the law as enacted by the state assembly for the best interest of the citizens of the state.

The Governor thanked the state law makers for giving teeth to his administration in checkmating the challenges associated with open grazing with the passage of the Delta state Livestock, Breeding, Rearing and Marketing Regulation Bill 2021.
