All Progressives Congress, APC has settled for consensus mode in its ward and local government congresses scheduled for February 18, 2026.
Deputy National Organising Secretary of the party, Chidi Duru gave the hint at a stakeholders meeting of Anambra State APC members in Abuja.
The move which has already been sealed by the National Working Committee, NWC will reduce the probability of rancour and eliminate tension associated with internal elections within the party fold ahead of the 2027 elections.
As the build up to the 2027 election gathers momentum, Anambra State Chapter of the APC is on the trail despite the challenges encountered during the last off-cycle Governorship election in the state.
The members gathered to strategise for future electoral processes including the ward congresses. Though there were murmurs from dissenting voices over the consensus mode, the party says it is its way of attaining stability in the face of turmoil in Nigeria’s major political parties.
The Anambra State APC is not happy that no core party member is part of the Executive Council of the Federation. Former Minister of Women Affairs and the state Chairman express their frustration over the matter.
The Anambra State Chapter of APC however passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu.
