Former Governor of Zamfara State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdulazeez Yari has paid a visit to the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Yari who arrived at about 1 pm local time, was ushered into the governor’s Ada George Road residence, where they both held talks for about an hour.

Apart from posing for pictures, the two declined to speak about the purpose of the visit.
But former Governor Yari’s visit might not be unconnected to efforts by the APC and other political parties to woo Nyesom Wike, following what his supporters say is the betrayal and poor treatment meted out to him, and the circumstances that led to the emergence of Ifeanyi Okowa, as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar.
They are also miffed by the fact that Governor Wike, offered the opportunity in the course of the first meeting between Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike.
Governor Wike who has so far maintained a loud silence had told whoever cared to listen, that he has no intention of leaving the PDP, saying he remains a loyal PDP member.
Tuesday also saw the Rivers State Governor play host to a PDP delegation from Katsina and Kano, led by the governorship candidates, Senator Lado Danmark and Muhammed Abacha.
The meeting was also held behind closed doors.
