A Makurdi High Court presided by Justice Terseer Kume has reinstated the dissolved State Executive Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State state, led by Austin Agada.
The development followed a suit initiated by Agada, challenging the dissolution of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Party by the National Working Committee (NWC).
Justice Kume in his ruling held that the purported dissolution of the EXCO was not in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Party, noting that the action of the NWC equally amounted to gross violation of the applicants’ right to fair hearing.
Dismissing the application by the respondents, Justice Terseer Kume declared the action of the National working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a nullity and every other act carried out by the Caretaker Committee.
A ok ready, the sacked Chairman of the Benue State APC Caretaker Committee, Benjamin Omale has expressed dissatisfaction with the Court judgement, saying that the verdict would be appealed.
In August this year, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had unilaterally dissolved the State Working Committee (SWC) in the State and inaugurated a Caretaker Committee headed by Benjamin Omale, an act now nullified by the Court judgment.
