The Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress has disclosed that it will hold its national convention as scheduled against the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise the Abubakar Bello led Committee.
Spokesperson of the Committee, Ismail Ahmed who made this known at a media briefing explained that the party does not need a 21 day notice since it had earlier notified INEC of its February 26th date before its postponement. It says the needed notice of adjustment will be communicated to the commission soon.

Ismail maintained that Mai Mala Buni was not sacked as Chairman of the Committee but only transferred power to Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State on acting capacity before proceeding for medical check-up abroad.
The party said it’s legal department will liase with the Independent National Electoral Commission over its scheduled National Executive Committee meeting holding on Thursday.
