The All Progressives Congress, APC members from seven wards in Jega Local Government Area of Kebbi State have unanimously rejected the imposition of Chairmanship candidate by some officials of the party without making consideration of their interests and giving them a sense of belonging in the party.
Spokesperson of the group, Aliyu Sani who stated that in Jega Town, said all political appointments given to the local government area by the Governor Nasir Idris led administration are confined within Jega township that is made up of only four out of 11 wards.
He stated that both the Commissioner and member of the State House of Assembly as well as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Board Members and State Secretary of the Party are all from the three Jega Township Wards including the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board among others.
Similarly the Local Government APC Chairman also hails from the same Jega township.
The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission, KESIEC has fixed August 31 for conduct of Local Government election for Chairmanship and Councillorship in the 21 LGAs of the State.
