Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC are meeting with President Bola Tinubu in their efforts to assuage public tension in the build up to the nationwide protests against hunger and bad governance planned for August 1.
The meeting which began last night at the Imo Governor’s Lodge had the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma pleading for patience from the public to enable the President fully implement his economic interventions.
The Governors later held an expanded meeting with Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume which stretched into the early hours of Thursday morning where issues of security management and economic governance policies requiring urgent attention were discussed.
At about 12 noon on Thursday, the Governors along with the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu who recently defected to APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP reconvened again where they moved as a group to meet with the President.
