Ahead of September Governorship Election in Edo State, the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Monday began the process of electing the candidate that will represent the party at the polls using direct primary.
When AIT visited ward 10 in Etsako Local Government Area; party members were seen exercising their franchise.
In strict adherance to the State protocol on political gathering and Covid-19; only 15 members were granted access into the polling unit at a time.
For accreditation, each person was required to present his or her membership card; maintain reasonable social distance.
They were also required to wear facemasks and wash their hands in strict compliance to Covid-19 precautionary measures.
Party leaders including APC Ward Secretary, Sule Emuakemeh were seen managing the situation to ensure the exercise was hitch-free.
The police and local vigilante members were also on ground to ensure peaceful conduct of the exercise as at the time of this report.
