In Abia State, a faction of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has announced the results of the just concluded Local Government Congress, held yesterday.
Speaking at the State Party Secretariat before announcing the results, the party caretaker committee Chairman, Donatus Nwankpa described the process as free, fair and credible.

Nwankpa who insisted that his faction is legally authorised to conduct the affairs of the party,said those who claimed to have conducted another Congress were on their own.
This is coming after another faction led by a chieftain of the Party, Ikechi Emenike Saturday also allegedly held its own congresses in all the Council areas across Abia State.
Although parallel Local Government Areas Congresses of the APC were held in Abia State on Saturday, observers however note the peaceful conduct of the exercise without any breakdown of law and order in the State.
