A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Director-General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Salihu Lukman has called for an emergency meeting of the party to strengthen the process of engendering sustained peaceful coexistence in the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday titled “Cries for Justice: Sasha and the Burden of Political Leadership”, Salihu says the ruling party owes Nigerians the duty of turning around the ugly narrative that has glorified ethnicity and drums of wars.
According to him, the party should put in place, sanctions against political leaders who engage in politics of ethnic hatred.

He noted that the level of intolerance in the country on account of ethnic background is beyond imagination.
Lukman whose statement is premised on recent skirmishes that took place in Sasha, Oyo State advocates for justice in Nigeria irrespective of who is affected adding that compromise of justice, erodes the foundation of democracy.
