The Adamawa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in North-East Nigeria has rejected refusal by the Federal High Court sitting in Yola to order for fresh party primaries after disqualifying its Gubernatorial candidate on grounds of over voting and vote buying.
The party stakeholders made this known Saturday while speaking to journalists in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani was declared winner of the APC Governorship primary elections held on May 27, 2022 where she defeated former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu and four others.

Ribadu who was not comfortable with the outcome of the primaries approached the court to seek cancellation of the exercise over what he terms as over voting and vote buying.
The court accordingly considered the prayer after series of sessions and disqualified the candidacy of the supposed winner, Aishatu Dahiru and still went ahead to bar the APC from participating in the 2023 Governorship election in Adamawa State.
APC in the state is not happy about the refusal of the court to order for fresh primaries, a position made by the stakeholders at the briefing. State Legal Adviser, Idris Shuaibu says the demand for fresh exercise does not contravene the 2022 Electoral Act.
For now, until the party is successful on appeal against the Federal High Court judgement, the APC in Adamawa State remains without a Governorship candidate.
