There was mild drama moments after the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, received about 13,000 defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State, North-West Nigeria.
The drama started when the APC members in the area led by the Chairman of the Local Government Council, Bashir Sabi’u Maitan, party Chairman of the Local Government Area, Surajo Ado and the party Secretary, Muhammed Lawal accompanied with a full water tanker emptied its content on the road to wash away the footprints of the PDP members from the venue of the defection ceremony.

According to them, APC is still intact in the area even though some of their members defected, it does not change the fact that they are still the ruling party.
Similarly, the APC says it has also received about 600 members of the PDP who had earlier defected to the party.
