The opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has joined other political parties in rolling out an electronic membership registration exercise nationwide.
Speaking with journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital, the party leadership announced that the exercise will commence on March 1, 2026, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, explained that the e-registration will be conducted simultaneously across all 8,809 electoral wards nationwide, describing the initiative as a move to strengthen internal party administration through innovation, transparency, and inclusiveness.

He disclosed that while APGA currently governs Anambra State in the South-East, the party is approaching the one-million membership threshold nationwide. According to him, the renewed registration drive is aimed at expanding the party’s base and aligning its membership records with the requirements of Nigeria’s current electoral framework ahead of the next polls.
