The second term bid of the Governor of Edo State and standard bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Godwin Obaseki has been receiving support from groups and well meaning Nigerians.

The latest is coming from the Edo North Chapter of the Arewa Peoples Congress which says it has endorsed the PDP candidate and his running mate Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu for a second term in office. The group disclosed this at the end of a meeting held with the Deputy Governor at his Jattu residence in Etsako west local government area.

Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu is in Edo North to sensitise the people of the senatorial district on the need to vote for the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The road show started from Akpakpava through to Oregbeni and Aduwawa markets in Edo South Senatorial district. It proceeds to Ekpoma in Edo Central and reaches Edo North through Agbede, Aviele, Auchi culminating in Jattu. Members of the Arewa Peoples Congress, Edo North Chapter have come to endorse Governor Obaseki and his Deputy Philip Shaibu for a second term in office.

Philip Shaibu is appreciative of their continued support over the years. He tells the body about the unfair treatment meted out on Obaseki by the opposition party leadership.

Shaibu thereafter hosted supporters who thronged to his residence. For him, the September 19 governorship election is about performance and the will of the people.
