A northern group, Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, said following the killing of 67 rice farmers in Borno State, President Muhammadu Buhari must sack his service chiefs or face mass protests from youths.

President of the group, Zaid Ayuba, said this at a news conference in Kano.

The Group said killings, kidnapping, and banditry have become a common occurrence in northern Nigeria but the killing of Zabarmari farmers has made continued retention of security chiefs intolerable.

The group threatened to mobilise youths to the streets if the president fails to act.

Sixty-seven rice farmers were killed by insurgents in Borno penultimate Saturday igniting nationwide condemnation of the deteriorating security situation in the country under the watch of the president.
