The planned protest seeking the unconditional release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has drawn the disapproval of the Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence.
Speaking in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory coordinator of the group Ogah Okpanachi said such protests are counterproductive while referring to the consequences of the ENDSARS protest.
According to him, Intelligence reveals that the protest championed by Omoyele Sowore scheduled for Monday is not about justice or democracy but a calculated plot to discredit the Tinubu Administration.
“As a nation governed by the rule of law, we have an independent judiciary that handles all matters, including that of Nnamdi Kanu.
No individual or group has the authority to take the law into their hands or intimidate the courts through street demonstrations.
Sowore and his cohorts are not fighting for democracy; they are exploiting national issues to advance their selfish agenda and create disorder”.
He therefore urged Nigerians to stand on the side of peace, unity and progress.
