A total of 14 bodies of the murdered officers and soldiers have been recovered by operatives of the Joint Task Force under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 6 Division of Nigerian Army, Major-General Jamal Abdussalam at Okuama community, in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria.
Some of the recovered corpses were said to have been beheaded, while other bodies had some of their organs removed.
At the NDDC jetty in Okuama community, the bodies of the Commanding Officer and the two murdered Army majors were seen floating by the river bank.
Meanwhile, communities in Bomadi and Ughelli South Local Government Areas have been cordoned off by operatives of the 6 Division of Nigerian Army Port Harcourt who also oversees the 63 Brigade in Asaba the Delta state capital.
The heavy presence of security operatives in the area have created tension among residents as majority of them have fled to Ughelli North over fear of reprisal by the soldiers who have been patroling the creeks.
