The 3 division garrison has emerged as the winner of the 2024 corporal and below competition held at the Maxwell Kobe cantonment, Jos.
The week-long competition, in which six brigades participated, was aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of troops in the division.
It is another Effort towards enhancing the combat readiness of troops of the Nigerian Army.
The participating soldiers competed in several exercises, which included drills, map reading, weapon handling, swimming, and cross country with the climax coming during the obstacle crossing exercises.
The general officer commanding 3 division, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, while commending the troops for the high standard exhibited during the competition, said the training of Men forms a major part of the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy.
He also urged the men to put to good use the lessons learned during the exercise when deployed during operations.
In the end, the 3 division garrison scored a total of 526 points to come first, while the 53 signal brigade led from the rear.
Some participants who excelled in individual exercises were rewarded for their efforts.
