The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to the continuous training and retraining of personnel as part of efforts to strengthen national security and enhance military operations across the country.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, made this known at the graduation ceremony of 604 specially trained troops in Kachia, under the Army training programme, Exercise Restore Hope.

Exercise Restore Hope is a six-month intensive training designed to equip soldiers with specialised combat skills in both kinetic and non-kinetic operations to effectively address evolving security challenges.

The graduating troops, drawn from various units and formations of the Nigerian Army, were carefully selected to form a formidable Special Forces team.

They received training in marksmanship, precision targeting, advanced weapon handling, and tactical operations.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Kachia, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, represented by the General Officer Commanding One Division, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, commended the troops for their discipline, resilience, and commitment throughout the course.

He noted that the training, conducted twice a year, is a key element of the Army’s broader strategy to improve national defense capacity and stay ahead of emerging threats.

General Oluyede assured that the newly trained Special Forces will be deployed to key theatres of operation, where their expertise will enhance efforts to restore peace and stability in troubled areas.

With their graduation, the 604 Special Forces are a valued addition to the Nigerian Army’s ongoing drive to confront insecurity and protect the sovereignty of the nation.
