Articulated vehicle drivers say they will not vacate vehicles from the Bida-Lapai-Lambata Federal Highway until some level of commitment to fix the bad portions of the road is made by the Federal Government.

The drivers made their position known when different teams visited and pleaded with them to vacate their vehicles, to allow free flow of goods and services to different parts of the country.
The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Babangida Hussaini, had assured the drivers that the ministry is making efforts to ensure that the contending issue is quickly addressed.
Babangida Hussaini further explained that the contractor has been directed to embark on a palliative alternative on the bad portions of the road, as construction continues.
