The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has denied receiving the sum of N52.12bn, as claimed by the Minister of Labour And Employment, Chris Ngige.
The Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, Kano Zone, Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad, at a press conference in Kano, said the union did not receive any money, describing the news as deceptive and misleading.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige had earlier in the week declared that the Federal Government has released the sum 52.12 billion Naira to ASUU, as part of the cumulatively earned allowance owed the union.
But reacting to this, the Zonal Coordinator of ASUU – Kano Zone, Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad, described the claim as deceptive, misleading and aimed at smearing the image of the union.
