A meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and the Federal government team on the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement, led by Professor Nimi Briggs have ended without any agreements being reached.
Confirming the outcome of the meeting, ASUU President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, said no representatives of the Ministries of Education, Labour and Employment were present.
The ASUU President expressed displeasure that the Nimi Briggs Committee is compounding the issues, by bringing strange items to the table of negotiation.
ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, to push for among other things, the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement, the adoption of University Transparency and Accountability Solution, and UTAS as a payment platform in place of IPPIS.
