Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi wants the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU to work out an end to the ongoing industrial action and re-open public Universities for the students to return to classes.
Umahi spoke in Abakaliki, the State’s capital, Wednesday while receiving the Board of Trustees of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, NPTF.
The team was led on the visit by Ben Akabueze, a member of the Board.
Governor Umahi told his guests, that he is worried over the prolonged ASUU strike, noting that the time has come for both the striking University lecturers and the Federal Government to reach a compromise.
The delegation from the Board of the Nigerian Police Trust Fund had told the Governor that they were in the State on a fact-finding mission to access the state of living and welfare of Police personnel, in line with the purpose of the creation of the Trust Fund.
