President Of the National Association of Nigerian, students, Sunday Asefon is asking the Federal government to soft pedal on the ‘no work, no pay’ policy threat on the academic staff union of universities, ASUU.
The NANS President is also asking the lecturers to drop their pride and return to the classrooms, if indeed they care about the future of the over two million Nigerian students.
Asefon was speaking on the sidelines of NANS at forty conference with the theme: Public Education system on the brink of collapse: Rescue it now or prepare for the alternative
Other speakers at the event harped on the need for the federal and state governments to increase budgetary allocation to the education sector and put in place monitoring mechanisms, to check corrupt practices by some officials.
