The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC President Ayuba Wabba has directed over 40 unions to begin mobilisation for nationwide mega protest in solidarity with members of the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU who are on strike for over four months.
Wabba while speaking on a range of issues at the National Executive Council meeting of the Congress said Zamfara, Abia, Taraba and Cross River States are yet to implement the N30,000 national minimum wage. Labour however says it will seek a review of workers salaries after 14 years.
After the expiration of a three-week ultimatum given to the Federal Government to resolve the protracted ASUU strike, NLC is now mobilising for a mega protest to further push for university classrooms to reopen.
