Students of various tertiary institutions in Edo state say the 2023 elections will not hold if the federal government fails to reach a compromise with the academic staff Union of universities, ASUU to resolve the pending issues that have kept them out of school for over two months.
The Wednesday morning downpour could not stop the protesting students demonstrating against the ongoing ASUU strike.
The protesting students converged at the pupolar Oba Ovonramwen square known as ring road to protest against the Ongoing ASUU strike which has lasted for over two months.
The protesting students who were joined in the protest by some former students accused the Federal government of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerian youths and vowed to continue the protests until government takes urgent steps to end the incessant ASUU strike even as they threatened to boycott the twenty twenty three General elections.
The students say if the government failed to send them back to the classrooms, they will occupy the streets with protests and receive lectures in the streets and major roads which they tagged university of the street.
