Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde hold closed-door meeting with former Nigerian Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, IBB at his Hilltop residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Atiku arrived at Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, at about 2pm, with a large entourage, including the Assistant National Youth Leader, North Central, of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Hassana Shuibu Dada.
The former Vice President, upon arrival at the airport, drove straight to Babangida’s residence on the hilltop.
Similarly, Governor Seyi Makinde, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP also arrived at Babangida’s residence 30 minutes after Atiku’s arrival.
Although there is no official statement on the visit of both leaders, the meeting is held behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has described the adoption of manual and electronic transmission of election results by the Nigerian Senate as an act that will further confuse Nigerians the more.
He expressed his displeasure while reacting to the development in the Senate during his private visit to the former military President, General Babangida.
Atiku advised Nigerians to rise up and reject the act in totality, calling for the adoption of electronic transmission only.
He added that part of his visit is aimed at ensuring that the ADC as a party becomes more formidable ahead of the 2027 elections.
On the issue of the controversy surrounding the tax law gazetted and the confusion it has generated, the former Vice President said the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is known for such acts.
While his visit to General Babangida lasted for about two hours, coinciding with that of Oyo Governor, Seyi Makinde, who declined to speak on his reasons for the trip to the Hilltop residence of the former Nigerian leader.
