The main support group of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has in Plateau State, expressed concern over the continued involvement of the former governor of the state and leader of the party, Jonah Jang, with the G5 Governors.

The group while addressing a news conference in Jos, said the main demand of the G5 Governors which is the resignation of the National Chairman of the Party, could plunge PDP into another round of crisis.

It is a common fact, that one of the key demands of the G5 Governors is the resignation of the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorcha Ayu, which perhaps formed the basis for the concerns raised by the Atiku Group in Plateau.

The former Speaker of the State Assembly, Istifanus Mwansat, who spoke on behalf of the delegation led by Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, said that the movement was deeply concerned by the involvement of the leader of the party in the state, Senator Jonah Jang with the G5 group.

The Atiku Group also disclosed that the recent actions and statements by members of the G5 Group had resulted in the endorsement of candidates outside the party, and called for a change in attitude, and sheathing of political swords, in the interest of the party.

The Plateau for Atiku Movement, while reaffirming its total and unconditional support to the Atiku-Okowa, Mutfwang-Piyo and all other candidates of the PDP in the 2023 elections, called on the G5 Governors and their supporters to embrace peace, and work for the victory of PDP in all the elections.
