Members of committee constituted by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, have opened discussions with a view to ensuring reconciliation.
The two camps met on Friday at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri led the Atiku Abubakar team including former Governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State Eyitayo Jegede and Adamu Waziri; while those on Governor Nyesom Wike’s team was led by former Governor of Ondo State Olusegun Mimiko, former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoki, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, former Governor of Ondo State, and former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo.

Addressing journalists after the end of the meeting that lasted for about four hours, Governor Fintiri, said talks are ongoing to achieve desired objectives, even as he urged Nigerians to be patient and expressed optimism that at the end of the day, the committee would broker peace, unify for the party and Nigerians.
