African Governments have been urged to walk the talk and set the ball rolling for the attainment of the 2025 Kampala declaration, especially in raising the $100 billion dollar benchmark by 2035.
Speakers at the 21st CAADP closing session, insist that for the continent to achieve its goals of fighting hunger and malnutrition, AU member-states must domesticate the Kampala declaration, intensify sustainable food production and ensure strategic investment to close financial gap that limits investment in the Agriculture sector.
Unlike previous pledges, the new declaration calls for nothing less than a transformation of agrifood systems making them more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable in the face of climate change, economic shocks, and pressing demand to feed a growing population.

To achieve the renewed commitment before 2035, comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme, CAADP says African countries must move from just talking to action.
For a country like Nigeria, panelists made a case for policy framework, that is focused on climate smart, nutrition sensitive, financial independence and market driven.
As the 21st CAADP PP meeting comes to an end, it is the hope that AU member-states will incorporate the recommendations made and knowledge shared, into their respective implementation plan of 2025 Kampala declaration.
