The AUG Foundation, under the leadership of its Founder, Malam Abdulhafiz Umar Barau (Dan Isan Gusau / Magayakin Tsafe), has commenced the sponsorship and active supervision of 200 free JAMB registrations for indigent students across Zamfara State.
The beneficiaries were selected from various communities across the state, with coordination facilitated through six Emirate Councils — Gusau, Bungudu, Maru, Tsafe, Dansadau, and Kwatarkwashi — to ensure transparency, inclusiveness, and equitable representation.
The Foundation is not merely providing financial support but is directly monitoring the registration process to guarantee that each beneficiary is properly registered and documented without obstacles.
Expanding Access to Higher Education
Speaking during the ongoing registration exercise in Gusau, the State Coordinator of the Foundation, Comrade Abdul Bala Gusau, who represented the Founder, emphasized that the initiative is designed to cushion the impact of economic hardship on vulnerable households across the state.
“This initiative is part of our broader educational support programme. We are ensuring that no qualified student in Zamfara is denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary education due to financial constraints,” he stated.
He further explained that the Foundation is committed to fairness and statewide inclusion, noting that coordination through the emirate structures was aimed at ensuring grassroots access rather than limiting the scope of the programme.
According to him, students who perform exceptionally in the JAMB examinations may also be considered for additional sponsorship under the Foundation’s scholarship scheme.
Beneficiaries Express Appreciation
Representatives of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful in light of prevailing economic challenges.
They noted that beyond financial relief, the gesture has restored confidence and renewed hope among many aspiring students and their families.
Commitment to Statewide Humanitarian Service
The AUG Foundation continues to implement impactful programmes in education, healthcare, food security, and direct financial support for vulnerable individuals across all parts of Zamfara State.
Under the leadership of Malam Abdulhafiz Umar Barau, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to people-centered development, youth empowerment, and inclusive humanitarian service throughout the state
