The Nigerian Senate has appealed to intending protesters to give President Bola Tinubu’s administration more time to address their demands.
This resolution was reached after a closed-door session during an emergency plenary session convened by Senate
President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio argued that one year is insufficient for the government’s policies to take effect and yield desired results.

He cited ongoing efforts to implement policies on minimum wage, sale of crude oil in Naira, student loans, and establishment of development commissions for the South East and North West regions.
According to Akpabio, these legislative initiatives will drive grassroots development.
He assured that the Senate is willing to pass any bill that will alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
