Niger State 2

Niger State Government in North-Central Nigeria has banned the sale of motorcycles across the state.

The ban is not unconnected with the demand for motorcycles as ransom by bandits, which has resulted in the mass purchase of the vehicles.

The government in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmad Matane, explained that the ban is part of the efforts to reduce the activities of criminal elements in the state.

The statement added that the State Government has directed security agencies to ensure strict enforcement.
