The Federal Capital Territory Directorate Of Road Traffic Services, DRTS has impounded 39 unapproved delivery services motorcycles in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Head of Operations, of the Directorate, Deborah Osho, confirmed this during an enforcement exercise on Tuesday in Abuja.
She says the clampdown on unauthorised motorcycles for delivery services in the Territory is geared towards sanitising the transportation system in the capital city.
The Directorate Of Road Traffic Services insists that only motorcycles with a minimum of 200-capacity are approved for delivery services in Territory.
The DRTS enforcement team says the exercise is in line with the FCT transportation laws of ensuring safety for road users.
The Public Transport Monitoring Unit of the Directorate assures residents of the FCT that it will sustain the operation to checkmate the operations of unauthorised motorcycles for delivery services in the Territory.
