The joint Inter-agency efforts of officials of the Nigeria Customs service (NSC) and the anti- drug Agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) has led to the seizure of 30.1kg suspected Illicit Drug, Cocaine concealed on board a marine vessel , MV Aruna , a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel at the Apapa Seaport.
The seizure according to the Area Comptroller,Apapa port, NCS, Emmanuel Oshoba,which occurred on Friday, the first working day of the year at the Greenview Terminal, Apapa port was a significant blow to international Trafficking networks as the Suspected Illicit substances were carefully hidden aboard the ship,underscoring the sophisticated tactics employed by smugglers attempting to exploit the nation’s busiest seaport.

While commending the eagle-eyed officials from the NCS and the NDLEA ,the Customs Apapa Area comptroller explained that the achievement reflects the strong inter-agency synergy between federal government entities and the commitment to intelligence-enforcement.
In the last two weeks,the agencies seized 25.5kg of Suspected Cocaine hidden in five bags aboard another vessel based on intelligence and in another crackdown, about 1.187kg of Canadian Loud ,a premium and highly expensive strain of Cannabis packed in 2,374 parcels across 55 bags and concealed within imported vehicles in a 1×40ft container was a apprehended
