Autopsy report reveals 19-Month-Old Obinna Died of Septic Shock- Police

Police in Delta state says the autopsy report as received by the command shows that 19 month old Obinna Udeze allegedly flogged 31 strokes of cane by his teacher actually died of septic shock as against alleged being flogged to death by his teacher.

The commissioner of police Delta police command Mohammed Ari who revealed the result of the autopsy to journalists in his office said based on the report, the command has concluded Investigation and the culprit would be charged to court.

Commissioner of Police, Ari said the release of the autopsy result of the death of Obinna a pupil of Arise and Shine Nursery and Primary School Asaba whose death is linked to septic shock has brought to an end the investigation of the matter whose suspects have been in the police custody since the matter was reported.

The commissioner explained that in order not to compound the issues, due to the fact that police by training do not determine the cause of death hence the coming in of the Federal Medical Center Asaba to ascertain the actual course of his death

Giving insight into “Septic Shock” the cause of Obinna’s death, Emmanuel Ezinnu head of paediatrics department and Petila a paediatrician both of FMC explained that it involves state of unconsciousness and severe respiratory disorder that results to blood withdrawn from many other aspect of the body while trying to sustain the vital organs like the heart, the kidney and the brain

Obinna’s mother who claims she is yet to be informed of the outcome of the autopsy cried foul insisting that her son was hale and hearty not until the alleged flogging by the teacher.
